NASA's Mars rover Curiosity has taken its first test drive on Wednesday.

During the test drive, the one-ton, nuclear-powered, six-wheels explorer robot will also control if all its system equipments are working properly.

Curiosity is expected to make hundreds of kilometers inside the Martian crater Gale it landed on August 6.

The NASA robotic geologist, Curiosity, is in Mars to study if the Red Planet could have hosted life.
