In Egypt, Clinton met separately with Egypt's newly elected President Mohammed Morsi and the country's top general, Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi. The future of Camp David Peace Accord signed between Egypt and Israel in 1979 was taken up at talks. Clinton asked Morsi to put Camp David accord to referendum. Clinton also opened the U.S. consulate in Alexandria. On the other hand, protesters threw tomatoes and shoes at Clinton's motorcade on Sunday. Clinton flew to Israel from Egypt.

Clinton's Israel contacts will center on Iran's nuclear program, Palestinian-Israeli peace process and developments in Egypt.
