The exhibition organized jointly by the Baghdad governorship and the Turkoman Fraternity Board features Turkomans' outfits, gadgets, tools and other objects exclusive to their daily life.
The governor of Baghdad Salah Abdülrezzak said every item exhibited reflected Turkoman culture, history and traditions.
Abdürrezzak said further that the Turkomans were one of the primary elements making up Iraq and it was something the Iraqis were proud of. He said further that Turkomans had been an important partner in the setting up of Iraq and the Iraqi people were deeply affected by Turkomans, adding that the exhibition was also a way of getting the Iraqi people acquainted with Turkomans.
Turkey's ambassador to Iraq Yunus Demirer thanked everyone who contributed to the exhibition, which he stressed became instrumental in the promotion of Turkoman culture.
Iraqi Minister Turhan Mutfi and a large number of politicians, intellectuals and artists attended the opening of the exhibition which will remain open for two weeks.
