ERDOĞAN INAUGURATES FIRST SUBWAY LINE

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has inaugurated Istanbul's longest metro line between Kadıköy and Kartal.

The first trip with the first subway line in the Asian side of the city was attended by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communication Binali Yıldırım, İstanbul Governor Hüseyin Avni Mutlu and the metropolitan city's mayor, Kadir Topbaş.

The line that has 16 stops on the 40-kilometer-long track that will transport 1.5 million passengers per day in 32 minutes.

Passengers will able to travel for a 50 percent discounted fare until October 29.
