UN SECRETARY GENERAL CONDEMNS IRAN’S LEADERS’ COMMENTS

A statement made by UN said the remarks made by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad threatening Israel were reprehensible.

In a statement he delivered, Ban Ki-moon said he was dismayed by the offensive and inflammatory statements remarks and he believed that all leaders in the region should use their voices at this time to lower, rather than to escalate tensions".

Earlier this week Iranian Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Israel would one day be returned to the Palestinian nation and would cease to exist.

Meanwhile in his speech delivered yesterday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Israel has no place in the Middle East.
