Regarding a meeting on Iran’s nuclear programme to be held in Iraqi capital Bagdad on May 23, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi expressed his hope that the meeting will be a beginning for a solution to the problem.
Salehi met Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian in Tehran.
Speaking optimistically of the Bagdad meetings, Salehe said, “If we could take a step further at the April 14th İstanbul Talks, then, I hope, we will be able to make progress in Baghdad.”
Noting that an opening to close the chapter on Iran’s nuclear progarmme was made in İstanbul, Salehi said “We hope to witness the closure of this fabricated chapter in near future.”
Ahead of the Bagdad meeting, the Iranian foreign minister recalled that they will have talks with the International Atomic energy Agency on May 13-14 in Vienna.
