TURKISH SCHOLARS ABROAD

In a speech he delivered at the Convention of Turkish Scholars Abroad organized jointly by his ministry and TÜBİTAK, Ergün said that no matter how well and elaborately Turkey and its people are promoted to foreigners, it cannot be as effective and impressive as a successful Turkish person they personally get acquainted with.

He said the government no longer made an appeal to Turkish scholars abroad to necessarily return home but pledged to offer them a medium much more convenient as compared to before. He said further that the Turkey they would return to was far different from the Turkey they had left and that was what they always told them.
