A written statement by the official spokesman of the Brotherhood, Zuheyr Salim said the Syrian administration alleged to have accepted the Annan plan had violated the plan for the past 4 days, killing more than 60 people in the meantime.
He said that the dispatching of observers to Syria by the UN was welcomed by the Brotherhood but that a hollow cease-fire could not be supported unconditionally, and called attention to the killing in the last three days of dozens of people. He said further that the killing of dozens of people may not draw the attention of the UN or it could construe the killing of fewer people as something favourable and say that 30 people dying instead of 100 is better.
The written statement also said that the it was the Syrian people who paid with their blood the price of the international community acting slowly and the Damascus administration capitalized on that to use that process in its favour.
