Britain's Times newspaper has praised Merve Aydın who was injured on Wednesday in the 800 meter race but still ran much of the race while suffering from a painfully sore foot.
The newspaper celebrated Merve Aydın by naming her as the day's hero in the editorial called the Olympian of the Day prepared in the name of Baron de Courbetin, considered the founder of modern Olympic Games.
The short article about her says that Merve Aydın received an ovation from the crowd when she did her best as an act of gallantry and made to the finish line while suffering from an obviously painful foot. She was taken out of the track on a wheel chair.
