At the Republican National Convention in Florida, Mitt Romney has officially become the Republican presidential candidate against incumbent President Barrack Obama of the Democratic Party.
In his speech, Romney said for the sake of the USA, he had hoped for the success of President Barack Obama but that President Obama as a great disappointment polarized the country.
Promising to create job opportunities for 12 million unemployed in the country, Romney said he will rebuild the American Dream.
In a reference to his Mormon background Romney said he grew up in a loving family.
Making a surprise appearance at the convention famous actor Clint Eastwood expressed his support for Romney's presidency. Eastwood marked a gaffe by saying "I never thought it was a good idea for attorneys to be president". Romney also has a legal background.
In a visit to Israel, Romney lit the green light for an attack against Iran, promised to increase military budget, and cut social spendings for balance concerns.
The Democratic Convention will be held in North Carolina next week.
