The opposition groups have gathered once again in the capital Moscow following the election of Putin to the presidency for a third term. The May 6 Committee set up for the political prisoners to be freed organized the demonstration. They demanded the release of about 400 people arrested in May during Putin's oath-taking ceremony. They also wanted an end of persecutions of certain opposition figures.
