As the Al Assad regime weakens before the opposition, Ankara follows the developments very closely.

Syrian opposition to meet Davutoğlu

The President of the opposition's Syria National Council Abdu Basit Sieda is going to meet Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu today. Accompanied by a delegation Sieda is going to take up at legnth the developments in Syria. The meeting will be the first between the two after Sieda has taken office. The Syrian opposition representatives are expected to discuss with Davutoğlu their fear of the Al Assad regime using chemical weapons against the opposition groups.

The Syrian opposition says that Al Assad's time is running out and he is edging toward a position where he is bound to be vulnerable and open to bargaining.
