The President of the Iranian Atomic Energy Agency Firuddin Abbasi has said Iran will continue enriching uranium and producing fuel in proportion to its requirements but all that will be carried out under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Abbasi said there are no nuclear activities whatsoever in the Parchin facilities in Iran's military region.

With days to go before the negotiations in Istanbul on Iran's nuclear programme, sanctions have also started making themselves felt.

The Hong Kong insurance companies have said they cannot give full insurance to the tankers carrying Iranian crude, which is inevitably going to deal a blow to Chinese firms importing their oil from Iran.

In the meantime, according to some sources the report that the nuclear talks between Iran and the five+ one countries will be held in Istanbul on April 14 has not as yet been confirmed by Tehran, this despite the EU Common Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton' statement to the contrary made public by her spokesperson.
